The short version

Who we are

Consisto is made and published by Steadify. If anything on this page is unclear, or you want a copy of what we hold about you, write to [email protected].

1. What the app collects, and why

Your account

You sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a link we email you. We keep the email address the provider verified, the display name it gave us (if any), and the provider's own identifier for you. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we keep the relay address Apple gives us and nothing else. We use this to know which practice is yours and to let you sign in on another phone.

When you ask for a sign-in link, we record the IP address the request came from. This is used only to limit abuse — someone typing other people's addresses into the app to flood their inboxes.

What you say

The app is for speaking practice, so it records you when you press record and while a live conversation is running. The recordings themselves are kept only on your phone. What leaves it is described in the next section, and what we keep on our server is text: the transcript of what you said, the corrections the app suggested, and the flashcards made from them.

What you practised

Which steps you did and when, which lessons you finished and how each one went, your flashcard answers and their schedule, pronunciation scores, days you skipped, the language you chose for word meanings, your phone's time zone (so "today" means the same thing on every device), and a log of which paid services each session used. This is what your streak, your schedule and your monthly progress are made of.

2. Where it goes

Every recipient below is there to make one feature work. None of them receives anything for advertising or profiling.

About Google Gemini. The app uses Google's paid Gemini API tier for every request. Under Google's terms for that tier, Google does not use the content submitted — your voice, your messages or the transcripts of what you said — to improve its products, and keeps it only for a limited period to detect abuse and meet legal obligations. We do not send your name, email or account identifier with those requests.

Google Gemini and Resend process data on our behalf and under their own privacy terms. Apple and Google handle sign-in under theirs.

Our own server is operated by us and is not shared with any other company.

3. What stays on your phone

4. What we do not do

5. How long we keep it, and how to delete it

Our server scores and captions a recording as it arrives and keeps no copy. What Gemini receives is governed by Google's retention terms for the paid tier.

6. Children

Consisto is not directed at children under 13 (or the age of digital consent where you live), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change what the app collects or where it sends it, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. Changes that matter — for instance, adding a new service — will be called out here rather than buried.

9. Licences

The app uses artwork, fonts and a word list made by others, under these licences. This is the app's own list: Settings → Privacy policy opens this page.
